The term "the whole nine yards" came from WW II fighter pilots in the Pacific. When arming their airplanes on the gourd, the .50 caliber machine gun ammo belts measured exactly 27 feet, before being loaded into the fuselage. If the pilots fired all their ammo at a target, it got "the whole nine yards."
- - - In the 16th and 17th centuries, everything had to be transported by ship and it was also before commercial fertilizer's invention, so large shipments of manure were common. It was shipped dry, because in dry form it weighed a lot less than when wet, but once water (at sea) hit it, it not only became heavier, but the process of fermentation began again, of which a by product is methane gas. As the stuff was stored below decks in bundles you can see what could (and did) happen. Methane began to build up below decks and the first time someone came below at night with a lantern, BOOOOM! Well, summer has been with us for a while - but it seems to be closing pretty quickly.... still plenty hot, yet the old schoolbell can be heard faintly in the distance - getting louder every day :). Vacations are becoming memories, and thoughts of next year's vacation are already being mulled around.
During this summer, the {WW} clan has pursued many avenues in the gaming arena. We have explored many games - including revisiting some old favorites. Since our departure from BHD/TS, we have wandered a bit looking for a replacement multi-player neighborhood/game that we can play/compete as a team and start vigorously recruiting.
Trying to get donations for our squad/clan should not be like pulling teeth without novacaine.
In fact, it should be more like a sowing of flowering seeds, watching them grow and burst into an array of multicolored beauty as far as the eye can see. With every donation, we will grow and flourish.... we will meld into a wondrous community of dedicated friends. Everyone sharing in this graciousness will feel a most satisfying sensation that will tingle and tickle the innermost recesses of their being. That warm feeling of bliss that will engulf us all..... the Weekend Warriors - is a mere donation away. Please contribute to our livelihood - your generosity will spill over into your entire existence and everyone will love you for it. Weekend Warriors over the last couple of years have grown and expanded, then shrank and nearly disbanded. But during all this time, we had some stand up members, and they well... stood up! The dedication and sacrifices by these members added a spark and fuel to us all. We are stronger now than we were ever before even though our active members/players are fewer. But due to the lack of participation in our own server in BHD/TS, we have suspended its operation - saving {WW}$s we were spending on a mostly empty server. We still play BHD, and we are able to host up to 32 players if we need to put our own server up. The general consensus is that we are all pretty much waiting on Angel Falls to come out. If it is what we think it will be, we will be ready with a new server and recruitment will begin immediately. Please join us on Ventrillo to meet up with your fellow members and friends. We are having fun playing BHD, JOps,COD4, and even flying WWII planes in HOP! We are a clan/squad wherever we play and the more {WW}s the merrier! Even if you are not playing a game, come on in and chat it up!

We have a new BHD/TS server and a new Team Speak server! Thanks to all members that helped make this possible. Emails were sent out to all members and allies with new Team Speak IP & log info. Our new server needs everyone to try it out and give us feed back on how it performs. We are not bound by any long term contract, so we may choose to use another host if we need. We are moving forward with the clan - look for more changes to come.
Here at WEEKEND WARRIORS, we are excited about moving forward with a new dedicated server and continuing with this website. We have done alot to keep the server, Teamspeak/Ventrilo, and this website going. There has been many hours dedicated to this along with money spent to keep it going. But we need help to keep it all going. We need all of you that can to make a commitment; a commitment of keeping a cheat-free server going. We are asking you to make a small donation to the cause.
